Swastikas are still in ordinary use as a Buddhist symbol in Japan, which takes some getting used to.

Neighborhood Buddhist shrine, marked with the nigh-obligatory swastika. (A swastika is how you know something is Buddhist. Shinto installations will be marked with a torii gate.)

Gorgeous, as always!

I especially like the graffiti whale cave paintings (doesn't it look like that?) and your photo of rice.

I want to live where you live!! We need to do an apartment swap, for reals!!

I have been pretty bad about my pics lately, too. Going to try to be better about that myself.

Hope you're well, bb - xo!

OMG an apartment swap would be so fun! Mine is teeny tiny though! I don't know how many people you could fit in it! :-P

Better about pics is better for me and everyone, so yes! Let's discipline ourselves ;)

Eh, my girls are little ... we'll just stack 'em up, like pancakes! ;)

*holds up three fingers*
I swear, I'm gonna be better about posting ... on Mondays, even!

And, there are definitely enough futons in my apartment for you and yours! Somehow I have a LOT of bedding...

Thank you! Yes, the last picture's a small back road temple. Kyoto is positively littered with them! I'm really pleased with how the flower picture came out. A lot of times I think I don't do any justice to the things I see...

I know what you mean I love to take pictures but it never is the same as seeing the things I photograph in person.
